My experience was outstanding! The women were knowledgeable as well as friendly. They gave options regarding units available, insurance coverage, locks , etc. They anticipated my questions before I could ask them. They even gave info regarding truck rental from outside sources. I highly recommend this storage facility.

This storage facility is a true five star! The units are clean, easily accessible and very secure. The staff are always friendly and helpful and quick to insure that you get what you want/need. We have used one of their units off and on for years and not once have been disappointed. No matter if you’re storing a few boxes or a boat, this place has what you need with plenty of room to do it.

I had to leave a majority of my personal belongings in storage between leases, and I couldn't have been happier with Bloomington Affordable Self Storage. The staff are helpful, courteous and friendly. The climate-controlled units are superb. After over a month in storage (during which there were several strong rainstorms), I was pleasantly surprised to find no water damage on any of my belongings. There were no bugs in the unit or even a stray cobweb. I strongly recommend BASS to anyone looking for a quality storage unit at a more-than-fair price.

The facility is secure, easy-in/easy-out, very affordable, and the units are clean, spacious, and the doors are functional and not back-breaking. We only needed the unit for 10 days and were sold out initially but told us to call back later and she found us a unit. Thank you so much for running a business that actually answers the phone! Trust this facility...you will not be disappointed!

On top of this, my daughter had bought insurance.. and noted by the owner in the reply to my review - they found "no evidence of break in" and the insurance company now says that we have to provide "evidence of tampering" to approve the claim.. and they have denied as there is no evidence of "tampering". I would just suggest to all the IU students that do not leave your stuff with any storage company and if you do, no need to buy insurance.. How can one steal all the contents of the Unit without "tampering" the lock.. and why would the Insurance company not ask for the surveillance video before rejecting the claim. IU students - find a better way to store your stuff... it has been heart breaking for my daughter. --- original review if there is a rating less than 1 -- i would do that. My daughter's complete belongings were stolen.. and more so, the person at the counter had no empathy.. seemed like an inside job that we can never prove as the company told me that there were no cameras on that section - even though they advertize 24/7 surveillance in the front... UPDATED 11/4/2023: Anyone reading the good reviews should know that they were probably made before Bloomington Affordable Storage sold this facility to Mini-Mall Storage in the summer of 2023. I was a long time customer. It used to be well managed. After it was acquired by Mini-Mall Storage, dealing with them became a nightmare. When Mini-Mall took over, they had my auto pay information but failed to bill me. They then charged me $60 in late fees 14 days later. (My unit's rent was only $105!) Customer service issues are now routed to a national call center where they give you the runaround and claim they can't do anything about these wrongfully imposed exorbitant fees. After posting a bad review here, Kathleen the facility manager called me and was able to waive the fees. She convinced me to stay. I almost deleted my negative review, until I received an email that Mini-Mall failed to auto-bill my November rent again so my gate access is disabled, AND they were going to impose "administrative fees" going forward. I'm done with these games and emptied out my unit. I will not have my property held hostage by a soulless Wall Street private equity firm. They gave the original owner a $7 million+ cash payout that he couldn't refuse and now the rich get richer at the expense of all of us. Don't feed the machine. Mini-Mall Storage is everything that is wrong with America these days.

I was a long time customer of this facility when it was Bloomington Affordable Storage and it used to be well managed. In the summer of 2023 they sold out to a national chain called Mini-Mall Storage and it's been a nightmare. Even though I had a credit card on auto-pay, the new company failed to accept my payment multiple times and charged me $60 in late fees only 14 days later. Also, I received a call that an incompetent employee accidentally cut the lock on my unit and replaced it with a new one, so I have to go into the office during business hours to get a new key. I can also no longer call the local office on the phone as all calls are routed to a centralized call center. This storage conglomerate is ruthless in gouging customers and holding your property hostage, and blame you for their own incompetence. Don't use this facility.
