The “Dip” that started it all
Clermont started as nothing more than a post office called the “Dip,” built in 1892. The town of Clermont emerged a few decades later, branching out from King and Main. A new post office was built long ago, but the original log building still stands and was relocated to the center of town, where it now serves as a historical point of interest.
The Clermont Historical Society Library
This one is a bit of a see and do, but we highly recommend taking a trip over to The Clermont Historical Society Library to look at their historical archives. Browse the collection and check out the artifacts and old photos as you learn all about the area and the town’s history.

Auntie’s Soul Food Diner
If you ask us, the fried chicken is to die for. Perfectly seasoned, lightly breaded, crisp on the outside, tender on the inside… our mouths are watering just thinking about it. If you’re hungry after seeing and doing all the things, you’re going to want to stop for some good ol’ Southern soul food at Auntie’s. The service is just as excellent as the eats. And the sweet tea? Perfection.
Mountain Fresh Creamery
After you’ve had some soul food, you’ll have to head on over to the Mountain Fresh Creamery for one of their famous hand-dipped ice cream cones. The Creamery produces all-natural, non-homogenized dairy products like cream, whole milk, chocolate milk, buttermilk, butter, and ice cream, so be sure to check out their shop for fresh dairy products from the farm straight to you.
